A rare early pilots altimeter by Bleriot, Paris.
Circa - 1910
Altimeters at this time were still being developed for use in aircraft, and the standard 'panel fitted' types were yet to appear.
In completely original condition this instrument was worn on the pilots wrist - known as a 'wrist altimeter'.
Instruments linked to aviation from this period are very rare - one that was produced by the then very small Bleriot factory
is rarer still.
The case is plated brass having some light wear; the silvered dial is in excellent condition. It also still responds well to
barometric pressure variations.
