A rare and unusual early French aeroplane wicker seat.
Circa - 1910.
Similar in design to later examples, the overall construction being far more delicate.
The main frame is bamboo with wickerwork covering the seat base and back.
Later French and British seats were also wicker covered but were more robust
having padded leather around the leading edges.
The seat is very light which would link it to an early low powered machine.
In excellent original condition with some light damage to the wicker in places.
A fine pioneering aviation item that displays very well.
