An extremely rare WW1 period German airspeed instrument (anemometer) by Wilhelm Morell, Leipzig.

Circa - 1917 / 18.

This type of airspeed instrument was usually fitted to a wing strut within sight of the pilot. The brass 'cups' rotated to display the aircraft speed in Km/h.
In good untouched original condition, some of it's German military black paint has worn. The lead 'test' seal is still in place, originally to show it had been tested for flight.

As fitted to Fokker and Albatros aeroplanes.
