A rare 1929 Blackburn Bluebird IV wooden aircraft propeller.
In excellent sympathetically restored condition, retaining a good colour. The brass edging to the tips has been lightly cleaned,
but not overly so. All information on the hub is readable including the date, October – 1929.
The Blackburn Bluebird IV had, unusually for the period, a ‘side by side’ cockpit. Powered by the proven 100 hp Gipsy 1 engine. First flown in early 1929 the Bluebird IV was used on several pioneering long distance endurance flights.
No Bluebird IV aircraft remain, making this propeller a rare addition to any early propeller collection – in ready to display condition.
